Skype for Business is Retiring!

by | Mar 8, 2021

On July 31, 2021, Microsoft will be turning off Skype for Business Online. Microsoft advises that Skype users upgrade to Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams extends the capabilities of Skype for Business, bringing together chat, meetings, calling, collaboration, app integration, and file storage into a single interface. Teams’ 115 million daily active users reflects its value as a lifeline for remote and hybrid work and learning during the pandemic, helping people and organizations in every industry remain flexible and resilient. Teams is not just an upgrade for Skype for Business, but a powerful tool that opens the door to new ways of working. As the focal point of Microsoft’s workplace innovation, Teams capabilities will continue to grow, further breaking down organizational and geographical barriers, and driving greater efficiency in process and decision making.
